Junk Removal in Helena, AL
The city voted to end yard debris pickup and killed its annual free Bulk Trash Day. Roughly 6,500 households have no municipal route for large items.
Helena is different from every other city we serve, and residents here already know why.
In September 2022 the city council voted to discontinue Helena's yard debris removal service. The program ended that October. At the same time, the city ended its annual free Bulk Trash Day — the once-a-year event many households had relied on to clear out appliances, broken furniture, and everything else that had accumulated over twelve months.
The arithmetic behind it was straightforward. Subscription fees covered about $170,000 a year against a program that cost roughly $400,000. A proposal to fund it through a universal $6 monthly fee drew enough public objection that it went nowhere.

What that means now
Household trash and recycling carts still run. What ended was everything beyond them. If you have an old refrigerator, a broken sectional, a mattress, a pile of limbs after a storm, or a garage's worth of accumulated junk, Helena has no municipal program that will come get it. There is no bulk day to hold items for anymore. That leaves three options:
- Haul it yourself to a landfill
- Subscribe to a private debris service
- Call someone for a one-time pickup
We're the third option. One call, one load, gone — no subscription, no waiting for an annual event that no longer exists.
One thing worth repeating from when the program ended: Helena's own mayor urged residents to check that whoever they hire is licensed, insured, and reputable. We're licensed and insured, we do the work with our own crew, and we'll confirm both before we start.
