Junk Removal in Clanton, AL
Clanton got out of the garbage business in 2022 after disposal fees more than doubled — and city dumpster service ended with it.
For years Clanton collected garbage with its own city employees. That changed in early 2022, when the city joined the Cahaba Solid Waste Disposal Authority and household collection moved to Amwaste.
The reason was cost. Disposal fees at the Chilton County Transfer Station and the landfill beyond it had more than doubled over five years, and the city had been absorbing most of those increases rather than passing them on.

What went away with the change
Residential collection continued under the new arrangement. Two things did not:
- City dumpster service ended. Businesses and property owners who had used city dumpsters were told to arrange service with Amwaste or another company directly.
- The city no longer controls what gets collected. Household pickup runs under a contract now, so decisions about oversized or unusual items sit with the provider rather than with Clanton Public Works.
For a routine can at the curb, none of this matters. For a renovation, a property cleanout, or a full estate clearing, it means there's no municipal option to fall back on.
We come to Clanton for the jobs that justify the trip — whole-house and estate cleanouts, garages and outbuildings, rental turnovers, and construction and demolition debris. One scheduled visit, everything loaded and hauled, no contract terms to negotiate and no dumpster to rent for a job that only needs one truck.
